GREAT BARRIER LODGE

Established in 1922, Great Barrier Lodge offers quality self-contained accommodation in a truly stunning location. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and most have water views. Located on the edge of beautiful Whangaparapara Harbour, the Lodge is centrally located on the Island offering easy access to the airport, the natural Hot Springs, the Aotea Track and a multitude of walking trails, as well as awesome kayaking and fishing. The Lodge is a 15 minute drive from Claris airport and the lodge also offers boat re-fuelling at the wharf, kayak hire, and a mooring.

The staff were excellent, all 14 of us were really well looked after. Very happy to recommend the Great Barrier Lodge to friends & family.

I have travelled all over the world and with out doubt this little piece of paradise would be my favourite.

Beautiful setting, wonderful people

A beautiful secluded location with stunning views from our room. The owners were very friendly and helpful in telling us the best spots on the island to visit. The food was absolutely superb. Great Barrier is an amazing untouched paradise and hopefully remains that way!
