With 13 unique rooms, Great Barrier Lodge accommodates up to 32 guests comfortably. Whether you’re hosting a corporate retreat, family reunion, or special celebration, our rooms offer a mix of privacy and convenience to suit your group’s needs.
We have 13 rooms and can accommodate a maximum of 32 people in the following configurations:
- Room 1: Sleeps 2 (Double or Twin) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 2: Sleeps 2 (Double or Twin) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 3: Sleeps 2 (Double or Twin) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 4: Sleeps 3 (Double or Twin Plus single) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 5: Sleeps 3 (Double or Twin Plus single) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 6: Sleeps 3 (Double or Twin Plus single) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 7: Sleeps 3 (Double or Twin Plus single) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 8: Sleeps 2 (Double or Twin) – Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette
- Room 9: Sleeps 2 (Double or Twin) – Ensuite Bathroom
- Room 10: Sleeps 2 (Double or Twin) – Shares a bathroom with room 11
- Room 11: Sleeps 3 (Double Plus single) – Shares a bathroom with room 10
- Room 12: Sleeps 2 – (2 x Single) Separate bathroom 3m from room
- Room 13: Sleeps 3 – (3 x Single) Separate bathroom 3m from room
Harbour Studios
Rooms 1-3
Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette (Double or Twin) Sleeps 2
Relax in one of our three self contained studio units, which open out onto the deck with majestic harbour views. Each studio sleeps two and can be configured as one king bed or two king singles and has a complete with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom.
- King bed (can be split into two singles if required)
- Kitchenette: Gas hob with grill, microwave, fridge (no freezer), kettle.
- All linen provided – just bring your own beach towels
- Ensuite with shower and toilet, soap and shampoo provided
- Shared BBQ available on request
- Front and back deck shared with the 3 studio units
Harbour Suites
Rooms 4-6
Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchenette (Double or Twin + Single) Sleeps 3
Relax in one of our three suites and enjoy harbour views from your balcony. Each suite sleeps three and can be configured as one king bed (or two king singles) and a single bed and has a complete with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom.
- Harbour views on your own deck space
- King bed (can be split into two singles if required) + single bed
- Kitchenette: Gas hob with grill, microwave, fridge (no freezer), kettle.

Colonial Cottage

Our Colonial Cottage is set apart on its own for perfect peace and quiet. The Cottage has a full kitchen with oven, separate master bedroom and an ensuite bathroom.

Pioneer Cottage

How to get here
Our lodge is nestled on the shores of Whangaparapara Harbour on Great Barrier Island, approximately 30 mins flight away from Auckland. Our private mooring is available for private boats up to 55ft.
